Internal Placements

Assignment management experience within Interfleet's headquarters and regional offices, starting by working under the guidance of more experienced engineers, but developing to manage larger projects as an assignment manager.

Placements should be carried out in the Design office, Maintenance section, Specialist Engineering sections, Projects department and Sales & Marketing department. These placements will include work for clients with commercial implications and internal development projects.

External Placements

Two depot placements and one manufacturing placement should be completed. This will not only mean the graduate will get first hand experience of maintaining and overhauling rail vehicles, but will also allow the graduate to gain a more complete understanding of the rail industry and Interfleet's role within it.

Graduates have the opportunity to travel around the UK and overseas for their external placements. In previous years, graduates have carried out depot placements in the UK, Australia and Spain.
